POLICIES
We at the PDGA feel that learning music should be a fun but focused endeavor. We have a few policies to ensure that learning happens in the most efficient and effective way possible.
Cancellations: All cancellation made within 24 hours of a scheduled lesson time will require payment in full with the exception of legitimate emergencies and unexpected illness. Cancellations made prior to 24 hours before a scheduled lesson time will not be subject to payment, however it is strongly encouraged that an attempt to reschedule the lesson be made.
Rescheduling: It is encouraged that an attempt to reschedule missed lessons be made by PDGA as well as the student in order to maintain a consistent learning environment. In the event that PDGA has to reschedule a lesson time we will provide multiple options for a make-up lesson.
Payment: Payment for all scheduled lessons will be due no later than the day of scheduled lesson. We accept Paypal, personal check, or cash.
Philosophy: The Mission of Patrick Dalton Groove Academy is to provide quality, engaging, comprehensive music instruction to students of all ages in the Weymouth, Ma area who wish to develop essential music skills and gain secondary benefits that result from learning music. Our mission is to make learning music fun, challenging, and achievable!
Benefits of Learning Music: Learning a musical instrument promotes self-expression, creativity, cognitive development, abstract thought, and motor & rhythmic development. Recent research supports findings that music study may be linked to higher brain function in learning. Learning to play an instrument can help your child be more successful in school and develop skills that they can use their entire life. Music lessons will raise self-esteem and foster devotion, self-discipline, and confidence.
Not only will learning an instrument help children grow cognitively, but there is something about the timelessness and the universality of music that makes it a special gift for a student. To be able to experience the joy of music is unique to the human experience and is the only transcending thing that has cross through every single human culture in history. Not even language can make this claim.
